Sad, Hopeless

ProHealth CBD Store

For me, it takes courage to send this post. I have been trying to escape from reality, that is, I may have depression. When I try to lie down at night, I probably don't know why I started crying. I am not a very pessimistic person, but I don't know how to face my life, including work and health issues.

Hi Maxamber.
I'm sorry to read about your struggle, but you are Not alone.
Dispite how it may seem/feel.
Although depression is an illness, it is also understandable to go through
A season of depression when grappling with poor health and the challenges
that stems from that,
like work and life.
There are days where I hv to remind myself of the song 'One day at a time , sweet Jesus...'
And sometimes it's a moment or goal at a time.
And that can take quite some time!
Bite size.
We here all hv good days and bad days and because we are all in a similar boat,
Are among friends.
The community here is a great encouragement and support.
Please feel free to stay and chat.
There are many here and many different outlets.
There are health topics discussed and homebound play alot of games...

If you feel up to it, come and visit at the Porch, via Chit chat.
(Sure hope I got that right! My head is a bit frazzled today)

You are most welcome to join us.
And be kind to yourself!
Focus on your achievements .(this is not based on a comparison with anyone)
Eg.I had a rotten day today, pain and fatigue-
But I am glad to see a swept kitchen floor.
For today, that is quite an achievement! For me.
(I am unable to work, but sometimes I can garden and God is Good.
I get to harvest fresh veg. That keeps me going)

Find something, anything that gives you pleasure.
Reading, painting, writing or just socialising with us.Here.on the board.
We are here for you
And you are Not alone ☺

Take care
Catch ya later

Welcome Maxamber

Here's some additional info about the Pro Health Board. If you click on "Forums"
at the top of the page, you can see the table of contents for the different boards. The porch, on the Chit Chat page, where "The Porchlight is On" is a thread with no topic. Folks just drop by and talk about what is going on with them. A good place to chat a
bout kids, relatives, TV shows, movies, books, old music, new recipes, pets, pet
peeves how you are feeling, etc.

You can find the board rules at the top of the page (blue line). As Mikie, our moderator, said,we avoid contentious topics like religion and politics. Click on "Shop" if you want
info about supplements. "Supplement News" has reports about developments; research;
etc. There is a tool bar at the top of box where you type messages. You can change the
font, add color, etc.

I have CFS; very little energy; was born during the Roosevelt administration. Thank
goodness I've kept my stunning good looks and sense of humor. Understandably, this
board is my social life.Feel free to ask questions. There is usually somebody with
helpful info.

If you click on "Forums" at the top of the page you can find the topic "Friendship and Support". The Chit Chat board has been around for the past 14 years. Folks just drop
by and discuss whatever is going on in their life. Their ups and downs with their med problems; their pets; their newest recipe; their oldest friend, etc.

Dear Max (hope it's OK to shorten your name),

It would be unusual if you weren't sad at being sick. Depression is part of the grieving process we go through when we lose our health. I have been fortunate enough to have therapy to help me cope with my illnesses. I would highly recommend seeking professional help or finding someone you can talk to about what you are going through. Just avoid anyone who is judgmental. I have a neighbor who knows I'm sick and still says things like, "Now why are you so tired?"

Star and Rock, thank you for welcoming Max.

Max, I hope you will join us here. Our members are the only ones most of us have who truly understand what we deal with. Our members are kind, loving and a wealth of information. I hope we get to know you better.

Love, Mikie

Max, Do please try to find some help. And feel free to vent away to all of us here. We have wide shoulders on which to cry. As previously stated, anything you're going through, it's likely someone else here has gone through the same or similar, and we all offer our sympathy, empathy and advice freely and willingly. It is a challenging life we lead.

Hi Max

Here are some things that helped me cope with depression.

The book Feeling Good by Dr. David Burns. There is also a work book. Dr. Burns says the
exercises in the book don't work unless you do them. Not enough to just read about them.

The 12 step program Emotions Anonymous. There is no fee, but a collection is taken up to pay for
coffee, rent of the premises. and literature from the home office. The meetings are conducted by the
members; no professional counselors. I went to meetings for 25 years. Would still be going if
I didn't have medical problems. If there is no program near you, you can get information directly
and books, etc. from the home office.

Seeing a professional. Counseling by a Psychologist is helpful. For me it was for a period of several
months. Kaiser Permanente had a good program.

Best of luck

Rock and Duckie,

Thanks for responding to Max. Great advice from you both.

Max, I sent a personal message because sometimes new members don't realize they have responses to their posts. It should have triggered an email to you.

I hope it helps just knowing that others go through what you are going through and can empathize with you.

Love, Mikie
It's ok to cry for once, but if you are depressed and can't face the reality then there is a problem. Facing the reality is important, one cannot just run away from it. Better consult a psychologist and get rid of depression and other health issues.

Thanks, guys. There is bad news about my health. I am sorry and I don't want to say anything about that. If I fix it, I will tell you guys.

Hi Max

Good luck. I hope you can find something or someone to help your condition. I am old
and falling apart, but coming here everyday and chatting with people cheers me up.

All the best
